Description

If you're into gift giving and gift wrapping but not really into using newspaper or other recycled paper to wrap your gifts, Furoshiki wraps might be your thing!

These beautiful Furoshiki wraps from The Market Bags are made of GOTS certified organic cotton. They're handmade in small batches and dyed with plant-based dyes.

What Is Furoshiki?

The Japanese word "Furoshiki" refers to both the craft and to the versatile, fashionable, square piece of cloth itself.

Furoshiki translates to “bath (furo) spread (shiki)” and was first used in the Nara period (710–794) as a means to protect valuable goods. Originating as a way to wrap important treasures from Japanese temples, it has now evolved into an art.

It's most commonly used to wrap gifts, transport and carry items like bottles, and even home decor. Get creative with it!
