Distinct from our other French roasts, this Peruvian coffee is bold and spicy with tasting notes of mesquite, cherry, and chocolate. Although it flirts with a smoky mesquite flavor it leaves only creamy chocolate flavors behind in the aftertaste.

The region where Cooperativa Norandino members grow coffee is in the highlands of northwest Peru on the western slopes of the Andes Mountains. The co-op is made up of an association of 90 grassroots organizations of farmers. The average size farmed by each family is 1.5 hectares (about 3.7 acres). On these small plots, farmers are able to cultivate coffee without damaging the nearby forest and fruit species that serve as shade trees to the coffee and supply an important part of the families’ diets.
