Usage Instructions
For optimal results, dissolve 2 ¼ teaspoons of Red Star Active Dry Yeast in ¼ cup of warm water (110°F-115°F) along with ½ teaspoon of sugar. Let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy, indicating active yeast. This preparation is suitable for up to 4 cups of flour.
In bread machines, use ¾ teaspoon of yeast per cup of flour, with liquids at 80°F. Note that Active Dry Yeast is not recommended for 'Express' or 'Rapid' cycles.
Storage & Shelf Life
Refrigerate or freeze the yeast to maintain its potency, using it within four months if refrigerated or six months if frozen. Always bring refrigerated yeast to room temperature before use.
