Before use, soak in warm water for a few minutes to soften the sponge and to make it less abrasive. If you prefer more texture and exfoliation, just wet it slightly before use.
Hang and air dry after each use. Sanitize loofah at least once a week by: soaking it in a diluted bleach solution or diluted vinegar solution for 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
You can also boil it in hot water for a few minutes.
Whichever method you use, be sure to sanitize it once a week to prevent bacteria from breeding in the loofah.
Replace your loofah regularly. Every 4-6 weeks is highly recommended.
